Which University Degree impresses more?

American universities are the best in the world.



BC is just a public Uni in Canada...Among Canadian universities, McGill in Montreal and the University of Toronto have the most prestige and greatest name recognition both in Canada and internationally. UCLA does rate above UBC on various measures by various raters.



Beyond those generalities, you have to investigate by department since various departments can have somewhat different ratings. For example, if you want to go into film, UCLA is the world's Number One, but it is certainly not the world's number one in everything! For math, certain sciences, etc, MIT beats UCLA by a mile despite UCLA's excellent reputation in those fields.
LOL! They're both impressive. I'd think more people in the USA would be impressed with UCLA. If you say you went to UBC they'd say 'Wow, so you're from Canada? Cool!' 8^) OTOH if you told people you went to McGill, they wouldn't know where that was. And it's a much more prestigious school!
